Off-Grid Lab
In the real world, specs mean nothing if the gear can’t deliver.
That’s why we built Off-Grid Lab — to separate the gear that actually works from the gear that just looks good on paper.
The result? Real-world answers about which models are best for every kind of off-grid use.
We push every power station to its limits
Before a unit makes it into our rental fleet or store, it goes through more than 100 structured lab tests. We replicate real-world stress conditions — freezing mornings, extreme heat, surge overloads, and off-road bumps — to see how each model holds up.
From voltage sag and inverter ripple to idle drain and thermal response, we test far beyond the spec sheet. Not every unit excels at everything — but through testing, we uncover where each one performs best, and where it doesn’t. That’s how we find the right gear for each job.
Real World Validation
After lab testing, each shortlisted unit is deployed into real-world use through our rental fleet. These power stations are used by campers, tradies, off-grid homeowners and emergency crews — in everything from high-country cold to outback heat.
We gather structured feedback on reliability, charging behaviour, inverter noise, app quirks, and anything else that surfaces in day-to-day use. This helps us refine our recommendations and clarify which models perform best for different needs.
Durability Data You Can Trust
We monitor long-term durability, charge time increases, and component failures across our entire testing network. This data helps identify performance trends, predict maintenance needs, and understand how each model holds up after repeated real-world usage.
Gear That Makes the Cut
Only products that make it through our full testing process earn a place in our range. Every recommendation comes with real-world context: what it’s great for, where it might struggle, and how it compares. No marketing hype — no untested specs — just real-world results with notes on where it performs best.
